Terrible article. So many suckers in this mania. 99% of people writing about, trading with, and investing in cryptocurrencies don't know how blockchain or bitcoin even works. It's worse than 1999. The hype and ignorance is astounding.
- deft 9y agoIt's worse but it hasn't reached its peak yet. And I'm sure the peak will be even higher than dotcom.... Kind of fun to watch
- fapjacks 9y agoRight! So get in on the ground floor of this amazing opportunity! /s

- tradersam 9y agoThe same goes for this comment.
- hn_throwaway_99 9y agoWhile I tend to agree with this comment, look at the world 17 years after the .com bubble burst. Amazon (founded in 1994) and Google (founded in 1998) absolutely dominate their categories, and the Internet has drastically changed virtually every sector of the economy that it touches. Just like the .com mania, I think there will be a huge fallout when the bubble bursts. But I also think there will be a couple dominant winners to rise from that rubble, and blockchains and cryptocurrencies will have a strong impact in future payment systems.
- criddell 9y agoSo what are the most optimistic projections of where blockchain and cryptocurrency could take us? How about the most pessimistic? Presumably, the likely outcome is somewhere in the middle. What would that look like, say, 20 years from now?
