This makes me want to poke my eyes out. I like python, I've used it before and would use it again, but please stop using tools that are not made for a certain job just because they're popular for other jobs. There are languages especially made for this kind of work, such as Lua or others.

- catwell 9y agoThe Python ecosystem is basically irrelevant to embedded programming. What you need is things like [1] or maybe [2]. Lua has them because it's been the dynamic language of choice for this domain for years (with Lisps and Forths as its main competitors). Now we see new challengers like micropython, mruby and jerryscript / iotjs, it will be interesting, but they're clearly not the mainstream choices for embedded.
