- mmusc 9y agoPasted from Wikipedia 112 is a part of the GSM standard and all GSM-compatible telephone handsets are able to dial 112 even when locked or, in some countries, with no SIM card present. It is also the common emergency number in India and in nearly all member states of the European Union as well as several other countries of Europe and the world. You can dial it in the US too..
- devdoomari 9y agoeven for 112? what if some real emergency happens (fire/robber/terrorism)? The caller has to listen to the recording? That's lame.
- dghughes 9y agoThat's some IT Crowd TV show level bizareness.
- cjsturgess 9y agoThis.
- Theodores 9y agoI wonder if anyone in Turkey is dialling 112 to test if the message is played. Maybe people are calling their mums to test if the message is on, perhaps it is a good day for telco revenue.
- fsniper 9y agonah, telcos granted free usage rights for the day. It's absolutely absurd.
