I just call all my diagrams "boxes with arrows" nowadays ;)

  Likewise, I create uml diagrams keeping them as standard as i can, but do not expect anyone else to know all the nuances of UML. It amazes me the amount of time I see convoluted discussions when a simple diagram would make it so much simpler and explicit.
