It is our reality because individual companies will always be looking to gain an advantage... these companies don't operate in a vacuum though and have to abide by rules and regulation that either impact them directly (like tariffs on their products when importing them into the country) or "indirectly" by tax breaks or other benefits provided to their competitors who favor domestic labor etc.
