Not that I"m jaded but this is about all you need to look for to know if this is a real viable trading strategy or someone trying to sell defective picks and shovels to inexperience traders.
You can analyze a strategy by
1) Time you have to hold
2) percentage win rate
3) upside/downside, or how much you win on a winning trade vs how much you lose on a loosing trade
In my experience, real strategies fall into one of two categories.
1) the win rate is about 51%-55%, it occurs many times(10,000s) a day and you win a small amount, most HFT high sharpe ratio strategies, the average person just can not play here, neither can the average hedge fund or CTA.
2) the win rate is about 25%, it occurs a few times a week/month but you win 5x in wining trades what you lose in loosing trades.
A book that promises a high winning rate, coupled with very common occurrences to the average person is almost certainly not a book you want to read.
> A simple trading approach that works ALL the time, No exceptions.
hmmmmmm, something about extraordinary claims requiring extraordinary proof.

- elikalpin 9y agoWell, lets not jump to conclusions here without reading the content. I am reading through it as we speak. The author seems to have shared a finding and proves it with scenarios. If you're looking for improving alpha factors, i'd recommend signing up for Quantopian. Sometimes it's the simplest strategies that work best. Full disclosure, am not affiliated to the book or the author in any way. I am somewhat new to trading and evaluating for simple price based trading techniques that WORK!
