It's less distracting than having 20 comments at the bottom of the thread to something that's been flagkilled and having to read the replies and trying to guess what got flagkilled, though.
- swsieber 9y agoYou can use the show dead feature... if you really want to know what got killed. And there's something to be said for the occasional inconvenience of flag killed comments for keeping a site from degenerating.

- err4nt 9y agoThank you so much for this - I've always wondered what that meant, and knowing now I can read all of the normal HN comments _and_ the jokes has made my HN experience 2x better!
- gardnr 9y agoThat is the only reason I am reading your comment. I have spent decades honing my bullshit filter. I would have folded a pun thread up. I might have accidentally read some posts and had a chuckle first. Now I am reading about something entirely different than an overpriced juicer.
