But I'm wondering if she has had the opportunity to grieve a childhood with a father who was checked out emotionally and how that relationship has laid a foundation for how she relates to her partner and the world. No need to "judge", but if she's still seeing her father as super human, she's probably got some healing to do to allow him, and her, to be ok with their humanity.
