    Doctor network. Start with doctors you know and use them to find or to screen doctors you don't. As others have said, you're screwed for anything non specialist where you can get good rate of success data for similar procedures. If you're fishing for a product idea, I'd suggest it'd be useful even if you could relate doctors on pubmed to their specialities and practices or simply crawl all the hospital websites for their staff. Just knowing what options you have is half the battle. The other half is picking between them.
