Some sort of categorization might be worthwhile (and do-able, since you're sticking in the startup vertical). Maybe tags/labels, given that your audience is pretty geeky? i.e. "engineering, design, mobile, marketing, management", etc. Browsing 600+ jobs is not just about good pagination controls. +1 on the searchability issues. Should be able to search by city/region.
