I always really enjoyed Travels by Michael Crichton. Considering how popular he is I've never spoken to anyone else who's read it. It gave me a lot to think about in my early 20s. I also enjoyed Jonathon Livingston Seagull, which seems to have fallen out of favour recently.

I love Michael Crichton and I've never read this book. Why did you suggest it?

  I wouldn't find out too much about it before you read it but it's an autobiography covering his medical school days, travelling and inner travels. It's entertaining and thought provoking.
