I have a desktop at home. I like things to just work (which in my experience they do better on Windows than Linux) and I like to play games (which aren't available on Linux, and I don't feel like messing with Wine). I also like to do some development and am most comfortable doing that in a Linux environment. So far WSL works great for all my development. I find WSL to be better integrated / less jarring than a Linux VM or dual booting. All the GUI apps I use, I run on Windows. The Linux environment I care about is all terminal-based. My only complaint is the state of terminal emulators. I use wsl-tty but it doesn't do a very good job of emulating xterm/gnome-terminal.
