I tried it for a couple months myself and got the same kind of reaction from friends: both eww at the idea and, by their report, no noticeable smell. (Note that if you switch to soap-free showering it's said you can expect to stink a bit for a few days as your skin adjusts. I didn't ask during those first days.) I have encountered smelly people in libraries, but I see no reason to gainsay Mz about this.
