I've been using Lenovo Thinkpads. Not the prettiest laptop but well built, military spec and I've never had an issue running Linux on any Thinkpad I've owned. Currently have a Thinkpad L430 which I got refurbished for $300 on ebay. Used to have Debian on it, now I'm running kubuntu 17.04 with no issues.
