doesn't this incur large bandwidth data charges for the defender?
- zspitzer 9y agono, it's just sending a tiny zip file, decompression occurs at the other end
- chamakits 9y ago10 MB (the compressed GZIP given in the example) can be considerable. Even more so if you consider just how frequently bots are hitting those wp endpoints.
- toomuchtodo 9y agoNon-cloud providers don't rake you over the coals for transfer.
- DamnInteresting 9y agoThe author's 10MB example is far from optimized. From the article: > As 42.zip shows us it can compress a 4.5 peta byte (4.500.000 giga bytes) file down to 42 kilo bytes.
