Skype v2.8 was the last perfect version of Skype. Lightweight, respectful of screen territory, and worked flawlessly. Even had the super sketchy "Skype Me" mode in case you wanted to get weird p0rny type stuff and invitations from Nigerian princes. IMO the crappifying had a lot to do with centralizing of Skype's backend for USLEO intercepts. At one point in time, Skype was the Signal of its day.
