This a great example as to why we should start moving away from centralised services as well as trusted 3rd parties.
- dredmorbius 9y agoOr require those parties to comply with sensible and uniform user-centric standards of behaviours. You're relying on a directory service ... somewhere, somehow. Your postal-service address is only as solid as the property and/or tenancy registry that's associated with that address. (There may be some way of coming up with a p2p system based on UUIDs and PKI plus a web-of-trust reputational vouching, but that is not an alternative I can switch to tomorrow for general use.)
