English is a terrible language for this, unfortunately it's the only one I speak.
Not sure how other languages cope, I suspect the simpler ones cope much better. We almost need a spoken equivalent of SQL
- thaumasiotes 9y agoEnglish is best known for being simpler than average, not more complex. It's one of the flagships (along with Latin / Mandarin Chinese / Swahili) for the theory "languages which are widely learned by adults become simplified over time".
