I like it for exactly the same reasons as you, and I'll recommend some highlights to my young nieces. But at the same time I am struggling to figure out my own feeling that a good speaker is a good speaker regardless of race or gender (although a strong accent can put me off an otherwise good talk) so maybe I'm patronising my nieces.
