Machine code is not arcane, it's right there in the ifs and + symbols of high level code.
- Grustaf 9y agoWhat percentage of decelopers today know anything about machine code? I would guess less than 5%, maybe 1%? My point is that programming is moving to higher levels all the time, most developers don't have to worry about pointers anymore for example. The change does proceed very slowly though, compared to the consumer side. I guess developers are very conservative and programming as a whole advances 'one funeral at a time'.
