Just to present an alternate viewpoint: I live in Palo Alto and actually like it! At least for me it's hard to think of a place where I am free to set my own schedule, choose my own office, leave whenever I want, enjoy gorgeous weather, and visit friends at Stanford in the same way that you'd think of a 19th-century company town.
- rms 16y agoPalo Alto doesn't quite count; it was a town first and then Silicon Valley grew around it. Palo Alto is the best part of Silicon Valley and has the most expensive rents to go along with that.
