Thanks for the recommendations, everyone. I don't have a math-heavy background, so Econ has always seemed formidable and daunting to study. I'm sensitive to the political agendas of name-brand economists and theories and just never really knew where to begin. One text that hasn't come up here, but has in my offline discussions, is Foundations Of Economics: A Beginner's Companion by Yanis Varoufakis. Any opinions on that?
