Pretty straightforward - the pilot said he was relying on magic to save them all instead of doing it himself. That's pretty unprofessional. He should be focussed on doing the job. He can be religious at home but he should not bring that up with the passengers any more than he should say "Hey everyone, we might crash, but my friend Steve, who isn't a pilot, and isn't here, will fix this!"
