rock n' roll will never die as Neil Young put it. Its just taking a break and going to hell to reorganize. Rock is here to stay and is out of fashion now but the cycle will come back and just like clothing fashion 20-30 years from now a new wave will happen.
- Animats 9y agoWe've now had over 30 years of house music. They won.
- santaclaus 9y agoI'm pretty sure southern hip-hop has officially 'won' [1]. [1] http://www.npr.org/sections/therecord/2017/03/06/518780898/future-makes-history-with-back-to-back-chart-toppers http://www.npr.org/sections/therecord/2017/03/06/518780898/f...
- Grue3 9y agoPretty sure rock has existed for longer than that.
- tluyben2 9y agoIn what country is that? It became popular in NL 24 years ago. One year before that I was listening to Slayer in a Portugese club and Neil Young at a camping disco. The year after, the same places were playing house. Taste is taste and winning whatever, but that was a loss to me.
- douche 9y agoA large percentage of what was considered rock and roll in the 70s has migrated to be essentially under the country pavillion. The next Neil Young, or Greg Allman, or Bruce Springsteen will be lumped as a country singer.
- VLM 9y agoSpeaking of 20-30 years, you get peak revenue off collectibles and aspiration-ables about 40 years out, notice how we're at "peak star wars" right now? You can predict 80s home computers and early video games are also going to peak real soon now.
