When I have travelled around the world, I enjoyed public transportation. Everything is new to me, and I have plenty of time to enjoy it. A couple hours to make it somewhere is no big deal. But I have to wonder if it's still as nice when I have things to do and need to get somewhere further from the main transit lines. Or when I need to finish something at work and miss a train. Or when I just want to be home for dinner.
