I don't handle it, as it's always hard, but it's easier to take a loss if you go into a trade knowing what could invalidate your thesis. This is either from further research or the price action. Once you can admit the jig is up, and you are convinced the price can fall further, then it's easier to cut the loss. Then, it feels like you've made the right decision and you can move on. A kind of moral victory.
