Also, C as a "portable assembler" kind of make sense as a lingua franka, because every language has to go through assembler before being executed at some point.
- pjmlp 9y agoNo, because adoption needs to be driven by an actual need of some sort. A programming language doesn't get adopted just for its grammar and semantics alone. Regarding the benefits of C as portable Assembly, I advise you read about the programming languages and operating systems designed in the 60's, 10 years before UNIX was created.
