Travis – thank you for leading us at Uber
- qubex 9y agoThis reads a bit like a heliography. I'm sure there's plenty of people who have fond memories of him. Sadly that does not offset the literally illegal things that occurred on his watch, under his responsibility. If anything emphasising his hands-on, interactive, lead-from-the-front style only heightens his responsibilities because it implies that he should have detected what was going on and directly implemented countermeasures.
- jasode 9y ago>heliography Maybe you meant "hagiography"?
- qubex 9y agoYes, I definitely did, damned spellchecker.
- iDemonix 9y agoThe title would be more fitting if you swapped the d for a v.
- bungle 9y agoWhen you lead from the front (usually by a good example), you don't have that much time to look what happens on the back.
- censoredaf 9y agoThe government does illegal things too. The US army rapes women overseas. Obama should have resigned.
- andreyf 9y agoI agree that Travis sounds like an exceptional leader and great boss, but unfortunately, it looks like he may have had direct knowledge of possibly felonious IP theft against an investor with an above-average legal team: https://www.recode.net/2017/6/22/15854348/uber-alphabet-self-driving-car-lawsuit-anthony-levandowski-travis-kalanick-files https://www.recode.net/2017/6/22/15854348/uber-alphabet-self...
