This is one thing that I don't like about HN. When a person from a different background shares his/her differing opinions on a certain issue, there are people who downvotes it for whatever reasons that they might have. Is it uncivil or unsubstantial to offer differing perspective? I really think the moderators should add "Downvoting are not meant for expressing disagreement." in the HN guidelines.
