Oh yeah, Netflix is on AWS. Amazon is doing pretty much everything, I expect/predict in another two years they will launch a music streaming site a la Google Music/Spotify.
- ovi256 9y agoRegarding your prediction of a music streaming service, Prime Music and Music Unlimited already exist! https://www.amazon.com/gp/dmusic/promotions/PrimeMusic https://www.amazon.com/gp/dmusic/promotions/PrimeMusic https://www.amazon.com/gp/dmusic/promotions/AmazonMusicUnlimited https://www.amazon.com/gp/dmusic/promotions/AmazonMusicUnlim... Yup, Amazon kinda sucks at marketing so many services, but who does better ?
- peteretep 9y agoI expect/predict in a couple of years that Netflix will be able to run just fine on Azure.
- rocgf 9y agoNot sure... is this a joke or... ?

They've been selling music for almost a decade! They started selling DRM Free Mp3s in 2007 [1]. Now you get limited streaming music with your Prime membership and access to a full streaming library for about $10/mo. [1] en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_Music
- noxToken 9y agoAs a consumer, one of my fears with Amazon is that the price of Prime is going to skyrocket. Prime is $99USD/year which works out to $8.25/month for all of the bundled services. This included but is not limited to video streaming, music streaming, photo storage, and free 2 day shipping on all eligible items. No single service of any other comparable medium (Spotify, Netflix, Hulu, Play Music) offers the same service that prime offers at the same price. Amazon tries to incentivize customers to use 5 day ground shipping by offering credit to Pantry to tries to push its credit card as a means of payment. Perhaps all their other services can continually subsidize Prime (as well as internal logistics management), but it feels like price hammer could fall at any time.
