The first thing I thought of was the "Nosedive" episode of Black Mirror this season. Seems more and more plausible every day.
- zeotroph 9y agoWhat is missing is a government actively pushing this scheme - which China is doing with their "social credit score". An intermediate step would be selling of derived data to anyone, not just companies interested in hiring you but really anybody.
- vlasev 9y agoIt is never mentioned how things came to be in that episode. I'm sure there was a lot of government in it, as is in all the episodes of the series.
