- jameslk 9y agoApparently the book is about "inner-city" fathers: > Doing the Best I Can is a strikingly rich, paradigm-shifting look at fatherhood among inner-city men often dismissed as “deadbeat dads.” It seems the article presents their findings as universal across of all fathers, which doesn't make much sense considering the dynamics that different cultures bring, amongst a host of other potential factors.
