It was launched only 4 months ago. I wonder how it's doing today and how important Amazon thinks this space is for them and their platform. It's AWS branded too which is a bit odd.

Amazon teams and products often compete against each other. It's like how they have both Prime Now and AmazonFresh as grocery delivery services.

    They certainly do groceries in my Zip code. Fresh produce, cheese, dairy, eggs, etc.

    Prime Now delivers produce and other perishable goods, though the selection is not as large that of Amazon Fresh.
