I bet there's more than one out there.
Work/life balance doesn't "work" for a lot of people, a lot of types of work and a lot of lives. Astronauts, Presidents, Prophets . . . startup ceo's . . .
- exelius 9y agoWork/life balance is often a cyclical thing: during certain periods in your life, you will have more time available and desire to work than others. I don't think there's a one-size-fits-all solution, which is why giving employees the flexibility to figure out what it means for their life is the right approach. As an employer, you're going to find that giving people the flexibility to manage this for themselves is ideal. The alternative is you get to manage high turnover, which is exactly what happens when companies demand "only the top engineers" and then work them to death with 6 months of unnecessary 100-hour weeks.
