This grammar bugs me. I feel like this should be "Much fewer" or similar, but I'm not totally sure it's wrong as posted. Opinions?
- ramidarigaz 16y agoMany is correct. Many refers to countable items, much refers to uncountable items. Many apples vs much wine, many lines of code vs much text. I do agree with your assessment of the awkwardness of the phrase though.
- galois 16y ago"Many fewer" should be technically okay. "Much fewer" is definitely wrong. "Far fewer" would be my choice. Normally, grammar nazis at least know something about, which you clearly do not. Why does someone of such low caliber try to correct others?
- dunstad 16y ago"...someone of such low caliber..."? Was that really necessary?
