Why are those the only two options? Why can't we continue make manufacturing safer like we have been since the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire?
- someguydave 9y agoBecause at a certain point increasing safety regulation causes production under a regime to be less profitable than moving to another country with fewer safety rules. Regulators are usually not punished for destroying profit and are usually incentivized to choose safety over private profit.
- legacynl 9y agoWhat's the point in making profit if it gets people killed? What do you think the ultimate goal is? More money? Better lives?
