Maybe it's a good thing. It might give some needed push to Mumble and Tox, or even apps like Wire and Telegram. But they are too many and I don't think these smaller communication ecosystems can even talk to each other seamlessly (haven't used them as any inter-platform scenario). I didn't mention Signal because it doesn't have a desktop app (that Chrome app not counted).
