The limitation is that the GPIO pins have an overprotection diode, so you have you have to get around that somehow.

- makomk 9y agoI don't think that you necessarily do. The protection diode just dumps voltage into the Vcc line of the microcontroller, which if you're clever may not necessarily be an issue.
