Well, this was helpful. Listened to a great podcast w/ Sarah Blakely from Spanx (How I Built This) and she did the opposite of JCrew. Really appealed to woman in a way male designers didnt even consider. Stayed focused on what they wanted and delivered. I mean she was also a straight up hustler which helped; but your points drive home the concept.jcrew should've talked to users like you and it sounds like they totally lost their customer base
