- petercooper 9y agoThe same could be said for a lot of releases but they do well here as people use this site for news on updates on tools they use. See recent very minor ReactOS and Sublime Text build posts, for example.
- exception_e 9y agoI love seeing the updates. It is also a great way to get feedback and answer questions about your open source software. Because of this, I plan on posting the next OpenEMR project update here, even though it is mainly bug fixes and UI tweaks. A lot of good feedback and questions were posted last time the update was posted here.
- dang 9y agoEspecially since there was a big Node.js thread a week ago: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=14447682 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=14447682. In threads about a version uptick people tend not to discuss the intricacies of the latest release, which are often minor and not that interesting. Instead they discuss the project in general. For that reason we tend to apply HN's dupe rule (https://news.ycombinator.com/newsfaq.html https://news.ycombinator.com/newsfaq.html) and penalize such submissions when the project has had significant attention recently. There are always exceptions of course.
