For that matter, why aren't everybody's written by markters or at least given some UI thoughts?
People talk up good customer service all the time - sort of starts w/the error message IMO
- zandorg 16y ago"Keyboard not found. Hit F1 to continue"
- aresant 16y agoRemember "This error should not have occurred."?
- d_r 16y agoI always thought this was a joke, and then actually encountered it a few weeks ago when trying to revive an old PC. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs171.snc1/6409_650220415912_100983_37916387_6372026_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs171.snc1/6409_...
- ugh 16y agoGood times!
- cookiecaper 16y agoI think that this error is intended to portend that you aren't allowed to use a computer without a keyboard attached. You must have a keyboard attached.
- huhtenberg 16y agoIt's funny, but it quite obviously implies "...not found. Attach the keyboard and hit F1...".
- almost 16y agoOr just "Not detected, help detection by hitting a key"
- cobralibre 16y agoHear, hear. Apple is only a notable example because its products are vaunted for their relative attention to detail, but the problem is industry-wide. I don't know if end user-facing text needs to be written by marketing, but all strings in a software product should at least be reviewed by somebody in the organization with some minimum set of credentials in the target language. A tech writer, for example. It's incredible to me that this is overlooked pretty much across the board.
