Interestingly, I'm getting a significantly higher hash rate in Chrome than in Firefox (12,000 vs. 600). This is despite the fact that Firefox has a higher priority on my OS (High vs. Normal) and they're both using the same amount of CPU.
What hash rates are you seeing on your machine/browser?
- shakna 9y agoI think it's a WebRTC problem. Chrome has no errors, but Firefox has: > ICE failed, add a TURN server and see about:webrtc for more details
- larma 9y agoThis is related to your local network. You will only be able to use Websockets for connections (which most nodes do not support) and not WebRTC. Go and fix your network, you likely have some UDP or NAT configuration issue (or a terrible ISP).
- shakna 9y agoYet WebRTC works for Chrome for the same device on the same network connection?
- luxcem 9y agoWorse here, with chromium I can get 20kH/s vs 200H/s on Firefox.
- Capira 9y agoyes Firefox is way slower in general. On a Macbook with Chrome I get about 12 kH/s
- geoah 9y agoOSX Chrome 10kH/s
- himlion 9y agoLinux chrome on a 4 year old thinkpad 10 kh/s
- fasouto 9y agoChrome on the latest MBP, 13 kH/s
- slice_of_life 9y ago11.24 kH/s - dell n5110 / chrome / win7
- fiatjaf 9y ago5.07 kH/s
- cubano 9y ago5-6k i3/win10/opera
- sayhello 9y agoFirefox is probably slower because it uses the javascript implementation of the hashing algorithm: https://github.com/nimiq-network/core/blob/master/src/main/platform/browser/crypto/CryptoLib.js https://github.com/nimiq-network/core/blob/master/src/main/p... Chrome implements the WebCrypto API https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Web_Crypto_API https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Web_Crypto_... - scrumper 9y agoOh dear, 216 hash/sec on OSX Safari on a year old Macbook Pro.
- eddieplan9 9y agoSafari Technology Preview (r31) on MBP gets me 8kH/s (Chrome on the same machine gets 12kH/s)
- scrumper 9y agoHuh. I fired up a Chrome instance alongside and got 8kH/s; Safari still chugging away at 2-300H/s.
- victorantos 9y agoI was getting ~4KH/sec then I've done some tuning and got to 20KH/sec with Chrome. I plugged in the power cord, changed from Balanced performance to High performance option. Also enabled GPU for use with Chrome instead of integrated graphics.
