Yes, I was just showing as an example of how seamlessly they were able to upgrade iOS devices to APFS.

  It's a far more constrained (and typically, more frequently backed up) environment. I don't think it really answers the question of 'how is it going to work out on macOS'.

    Of course not, but it shows that transparent in-place update should be possible.
