Out of the 100 or so people I know my experience is very typical.
- cbhl 9y agoBut the 100 people you would know would be biased towards Math grads, and less towards English or Environment majors, right? Survivorship bias means you would be less likely to be in touch with collage drop-outs.

- eon1 9y agoYeah, like.. scorchingly atypical. How many of these jobs are there that all 100 of your peers had a similar experience?
- HarryHirsch 9y agoWhat do you think the "alumni lists" on researchers' webpages are good for? On the other hand, if a researcher has no alumni list on their page and isn't just starting out, that's an obvious sign for all that can read.
- csallen 9y agoThat's never been a reliable way to determine what's true for millions of other people, and it never will be.
