I had great experience. Rented BMW Z7 and Porsche Boxster on two occasions. Picked cars in SF and dropped them in LA for an extra ~$300 fee. The owner then would fly over and drive them back. Total price was significantly cheaper than any rental company could offer. The biggest advantage to me is that you get the exact car you see in the pictures. It also allows you to test the car you always wanted. After a week spent driving a powerful convertible I have decided that I don't want one.
