Risk? Come on. CEO loses their job and maybe they have to downsize to a million dollar home if they've been managing their money right.
Rank and file employee loses their job and suddenly they have no health insurance and are struggling to make rent.
Who's really running more risk?
- manigandham 9y agoThat's not related to this at all. Anyone can lose their job and obviously having more money makes it easier to deal with. This job (which has nothing to do with the person who inhabits the position) pays so much because comes with risk and responsibility to make sure the company earns value while protecting the livelihoods of all those other employees. The amount offered is what the market and the board has determined it takes to fill that position. Many people do not want to and would not be able to run a company of this magnitude with the pressures involved.
- soVeryTired 9y agoCan you be specific about what you mean by risk though? Because I think it's clear that you're not talking about personal risk.
