Ask HN: How do you keep your investors informed?

We have seed stage investment from a small group of private investors and would like to keep them informed on our progress, challenges, etc. How do you keep your investors informed? Do you meet in person on occasion, send out recurring status e-mails, do nothing? If you do keep them informed, how often do you communicate with your investors? Lastly, what topics are typically covered in your communications?
