List of freely available programming books
- Kilimanjaro 16y agoI'd like to have all of them in one site, in html format. But it is time consuming. If 80 of us get together and each one post a book then we can do it in a couple of days.
- pinchyfingers 16y agoI love that idea. I'll help.
- Kilimanjaro 16y agoHmm, we need more volunteers unless we want to split at 40 books each. Or get donations so we can commit time to do it all.
- awa 16y agoOr we can automate it :)
- Groxx 16y agoI'll jump on board. I've got working minimalistic HTML for the first 3 books so far (PDFs for the first two), and am thinking a git project would make this simpler. I'm slightly hesitant to shove it to github though, as I haven't read all the legal notices, and it'd be most useful to include the author's descriptions, and we technically don't have permission to do so in at least some of the cases (currently). Think I should go ahead and push to github?
- makmanalp 16y agoI don't want to bother with an account there, can someone post these for me? http://www.htdp.org/ http://www.htdp.org/ http://www.cs.brown.edu/~sk/Publications/Books/ProgLangs/ http://www.cs.brown.edu/~sk/Publications/Books/ProgLangs/ http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~rja14/book.html http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~rja14/book.html -> First edition free
- abraham 16y agoStack supports OpenID.
- SkyMarshal 16y agoMay as well get an account too anyway. Stack is the new hotness.
- sesqu 16y agoAnd unregistered cookie-based accounts.
- xtho 16y agoIt's somehow the same list of books over and over again. This reddit is probably better suited for a collaborative approach: http://www.reddit.com/r/csbooks/ http://www.reddit.com/r/csbooks/
