Ask HN: AMP Ads? Is Google Pushing Ads on AMP Now?

My motivation to use AMP on desktop is that it works as a adblocker for most news articles. But now I also see ads for amp documents on desktop Is this a new thing or did I miss any announcements of using Ads in the AMP format? https://amp.theguardian.com/news/2017/may/21/revealed-facebook-internal-rulebook-sex-terrorism-violence or https://amp.theguardian.com/news/2017/may/21/revealed-facebook-internal-rulebook-sex-terrorism-violence
