Not coincidentally, I'm prototyping this daemon in Erlang and Mnesia right now. (And struggling a bit with OTP.) I'm a little concerned about Mnesia's performance with tables of 100 million entries, though, which is why I'm thinking ahead about how to rewrite this component in C.
